چکیده

The two tripeptides are similar in structure; they share some biological properties (Cliffe & Waley, 1958b), and compete in others (Cliffe & Waley, 1959a) and are synthesized by the same route in extracts of calf lens (Cliffe & Waley, 1958a). The comparison between ophthalmic acid and glutathione has now been extended by the choice of a tissue that not only contains enzymes that bring about the synthesis of the tripeptides but also enzymes that catalyse their breakdown. Such a tissue is rabbit liver. Subcellular fractionation has been used to study these enzymes. This method enabled us to find out whether both glutathione and ophthalmic acid

Sorting-out of acceptor-donor relationships in the transglutaminase-catalyzed cross-linking of crystallins by the enzyme-directed labeling of potential sites.

The dansyl-conjugated (Dns) peptides Dns-Pro-Gly-Gly-Gln-Gln-Ile-Val and Dns-Ala-Gln-Gln-Ile-Val, patterned on the N-terminal sequence of fibronectin, were synthesized and used for the transglutaminase (protein-glutamine:amine gamma-glutamyltransferase, EC 2.3.2.13)-directed selective blocking of lens proteins that otherwise might participate in donating lysyl side chains in forming N epsilon-(...

Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model for biodistribution of radiolabeled peptides in patients with neuroendocrine tumours

Objective(s): The objectives of this work was to assess the benefits of the application of Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models in patients with different neuroendocrine tumours (NET) who were treatedwith Lu-177 DOTATATE. The model utilises clinical data on biodistribution of radiolabeled peptides (RLPs) obtained by whole body scintigraphy (WBS) of the patients. Methods: The blood...

Ratio Of Ast / alt And Serum Gamma Glutamyl Transferase ( ggt ) Activity In Chronic Alcoholics And Acute Viral

Introduction-Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT), also known as Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase, is a micorsomal enzyme with a wide tissue distribution. GGT is present in the cell membranes of many tissues, including the kidneys, bile duct, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, heart, brain, and seminal vesicles.[1]It is involved in the transfer of amino acids across the cellular [2] [3] membrane and leuko...

Purification and characterization of a novel type of neurotoxic peptides from the venom of the Iranian scorpion Hemiscorpius lepturus

Objective(s): Scorpion venom has toxic effects on mammals, insects and crustaceans.  Toxicogenic peptides are major contributors to the scorpion venom, which make it toxic. The Hemiscorpius lepturus (H. lepturus) is one of the most common scorpion bites agent, and responsible for 95% of scorpion bite deaths cases in Iran.Materials and Methods:</strong...

Impaired Memory and Evidence of Histopathology in CA1 Pyramidal Neurons through Injection of Aβ1-42 Peptides into the Frontal Cortices of Rat

Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders, which has much benefited from animal models to find the basics of its pathophysiology. In our previous work (Haghani, Shabani, Javan, Motamedi, & Janahmadi, 2012), a non-transgenic rat model of AD was used in electrophysiological studies. However, we did not investigate the histological aspects in the ...
